The famous Brussels Christmas Market takes place from 29 November to 5 January
Brussels Christmas fair, called Plaisirs d'Hiver is back on 29 november in its usual location, around Place Sainte-Catherine and La Bourse with the Christmas market and plenty of activities and of course the lights show at Grand-Place.
The market (chalets) will be open between 12h00 and 22h00 and the Lights and Sound show in Grand-Place will start on Friday 29 at 18h00 with the illumination of the Christmas tree and it will last every day with an hourly show between 17h00 until 22h00.
The 2024 edition takes you on a journey to the South: the guest of honour for this major event is Le Var. The City of Brussels welcomes this French department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region in Place de la Bourse to display some sweet treats and share their know-how for 5 weeks. These are some of the music activities of the season:
On Mondays, Simon Codin, from Quebec, will play contemporary music from 18h00 to 21h30pm in the Black Tower, behind Sainte-Catherine’s Church.
Every Tuesday from 6 pm to 8pm, World Music enlivens Place De Brouckère. Each week, musical parades in different styles are featured: Latino, Arabic, European…
Wednesday is the “children's day,” with activities and shows between 15h00 and 19h00: Stories, mascots, street arts, and many other surprises await you on stage and in Santa’s Workshop.
The Black Tower will also host acoustic performances on Thursdays between 18h00 and 20h00 in a warm and friendly environment.
On Fridays, the guest of honour Le Var will take over the Bourse with local music from the French region.
And Saturdays, also at the Black Tower, the Winter Vox will delight attendees with Christmas carols, gospel and some contemporary music.
The Cathedral of St Michel and St Gudula offers a special Christmas concert by Christmas Oratorio on 27 December at 17h00. Tickets.
On the very first weekend of the festive event, 28 November to 1st December, you can also head towards Sablon for this year's Nocturnes, with concerts and street entertainment, mulled wine and shops open until later than usual.
Among other activities, do not miss on Sunday 1st December at 16h00 the performance by Pure Singing Choir in Place Sainte- Catherine.
